The Lazy Girl's Guide to Planning Your Week (5 Minutes or Less)

The Lazy Girl's Guide to Planning Your Week (5 Minutes or Less)

Because you don't need a colour-coded, tab-divided, Pinterest-perfect planner to have a productive week. You just need five minutes and a pen.

Let's be honest. Some weeks, the idea of sitting down to "plan" feels like a whole project in itself. You open your planner, stare at the blank pages, and suddenly you're reorganizing your desk instead.

This one's for you. The lazy girl's guide to planning your week — fast, simple, and actually doable.

⏱ Set a 5-Minute Timer

Seriously. Set it right now. Five minutes is all this takes, and having a timer removes the pressure of doing it "right." When the timer goes off, you're done — whether you feel ready or not.

📝 Step 1: Write Down Your Top 3 (1 minute)

What are the three things that absolutely must happen this week? Not your full to-do list — just the three that would make you feel like the week was a success if they got done.

Write them at the top of your weekly page. Everything else is a bonus.

🗓️ Step 2: Check Your Calendar (1 minute)

Scan your week for anything fixed — appointments, deadlines, commitments. Write them in. This takes 60 seconds and prevents the "oh no, I forgot I had that" moment on Thursday.

🧠 Step 3: Do a 60-Second Brain Dump (1 minute)

Set a one-minute timer and write down everything floating around in your head. Tasks, errands, ideas, worries — all of it. Don't organize it, just get it out.

You won't do all of it this week. That's fine. It's just off your mental plate and onto paper.

✅ Step 4: Pick 2-3 Things from Your Brain Dump (1 minute)

Look at your brain dump list and circle 2-3 things you'd like to tackle this week if time allows. These are your "nice to do" items — no pressure, just intention.

🌿 Step 5: Write One Thing Just for You (30 seconds)

One thing this week that's just for you. A walk. A bath. A chapter of your book. Write it in like it's an appointment, because it is.

That's It. You're Done.

Five minutes. No colour coding required. No washi tape. No perfectly curated spread.

The best planning system is the one you'll actually use — and this one takes less time than scrolling Pinterest looking for planning inspo.

(Although, we do love a good planning flatlay. No judgment.)
